Children's Tooth Extractions
Kids's tooth extractions at our office
Tooth extraction can make both kids and parents very anxious, but it is a very common procedure in pediatric dental offices around the country.
Reasons for extracting a child’s tooth could be because the tooth has too much decay to restore, it may be infected, or it may need to be removed to make room for orthodontic treatment.
Whatever the reason, our highly trained doctors and our staff will make sure you and your child are comfortable with the treatment plan before any procedures take place.
What happens during an extraction?
After a local anesthetic is applied and your child is comfortable, the pediatric dentist will remove the tooth.
In situations where the tooth is impacted or if it is likely going to be a more complicated removal, the doctor will discuss with you if an oral surgeon or sedation options are recommended and what to expect.
Once the tooth is safely removed, our dentist will send you home with clear instructions for caring for your child.
